Dear Thriving Mamas,
Ever begin a small task, only to watch it cascade into a major task or list of tasks? I went to print a single photo for my mother in law the other day. Before I realized what was happening, I was uploading 100’s of photos to snapfish, organizing my albums and deleting photos that were blurry. My toddler woke up from her nap 45 minutes into this project, and I never did get to printing the one picture I intended.
Keep it simple. A well respected coach I was listening to pointed out that we often set goals, then make them so complicated that we get overwhelmed and give up. I am taking this to heart. When I start working on a project and my brain begins kicking out a million ideas on how the project could be soooooooo much more cool, I hear her voice, “keep it simple”, stay focused on the task at hand.
I put off decorating for Halloween because I has such grand ideas for creating a haunted house in the basement. In a moment of sanity, I remembered “keep it simple” and realized that the kids will enjoy spiderwebs and paper cut-out ghosts just as much, and they can participate in that plan. So we had a great time last night doing just that!
Keep it simple on all fronts and be well,
