More on creating serenity

“Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.”

Who isn’t seeking serenity?  Merriam-Webster defines serenity to be:  “The state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled”

Here are some quick ways to create daily moments of serenity.  Remember it is not a constant state, much like your three year old’s tantrum or the babie’s colic are not constant states.

-rejoice for your healthy, active, curious children,
-have gratitude that your basic needs are met,
-keep difficult developmental stages in perspective, they are not permanent
-appreciate your job (having employment),
-take a breath of fresh air,
-look at the birds,
-listen to soothing music ….all can contribute to opening your serenity window!  Your serenity is there, you just have to figure out how to let go of distractions, troubles, anxieties and find it for brief moments!
